I love music, you love music
If we didn’t listen to music, we’d be lame.

Wednesday

Princeton- Calypso Gold

I love that a band named Princeton plays Vampire Weekend like jams titled “Calypso gold” the irony kills me.

Ra Ra Riot- Each Year

I’ve tried very hard to get into Ra Ra Riot over the last year, but I’ve always found their sound to be very paint by numbers indie rock.

Maps and Atlases- Every Place Is A House

Man this show is going to be SMU student heavy.

Thursday

Montonix- Set Me Free

This is the calmest Monotonix gets, and it’s a 1000times harsher then anything you’d get from Wednesday’s bands.

The Pains of Being Pure of Heart- This Love is Fucking Right

Tweest name ever? Tweest name ever. Not so guilty pleasure? Not so guilty pleasure, because it’s absolutely perfect pop music.

Bob Schneider- Come With Me Tonight

Man girls in their mid to late 20’s love this guy, and I’ve never got it.

The Polyphonic Spree- Light & Day

This feels like it was ages ago.

Friday

Crocodiles- Neon Jesus

I find this boring, it’s straightforward, and unimaginative, the hype isn’t warranted.

Happy Mondays- Hallelujah

Every time I think of this band I can’t help but think of the part in 24 Hour Party People when god tells Tony that he’s right in thinking that Shaun Ryder is “the greatest poet since Yeats.”

Amusement Parks On Fire- Young Fight

This subtlety builds to something quite beautiful as the track progresses, going from a soft bit of exposition to blaring wall of disaffection.

Saturday

Datarock- True Stories

Birds of Avalon- Your Downtime is Up

Mount Righteous- Circle Yes or No(removed by request)

You can easily win me over by playing mariachi esq horns in your intro, the catchyness of the track is just icing from there. I can’t wait till we post our review of this EP.

Sunday

Asobi Seksu- Suzanne (Leonard Cohen cover)

One of Cohen’s most heart wrenching songs becomes even more so in this rendition that reimagines it as something delicate and airy.

You can find most of these artist on emusic, itunes, Amazon and at your local record shop.
